Eng. Tquabo was born in a small town called Enda Aba Tsahama near Adwa, Tigray in Ethiopia. He comes from generations of farmers where the land is unkind and access to water is nonexistent. Because of his upbringing, the importance of access to clean water and becoming a cornerstone to one’s community was embedded in his values as a child. Eng. Tquabo was the only one from his siblings to receive education. He eventually became one of the few to lead a multi-million Birr company with roots in Addis Abeba extending all the way to his homeland Tigray.
Eng. Tquabo was a man of values and integrity. He charged all he pursued with an immense sense of responsibility to his country, community and family. He poured all his core values into how he ran his company, handled his employees and colleagues accordingly. With whomever he worked with, irrespective of class, religion, ethnicity and nationality he remained the most consistent human being. He was a beloved and warm anchor of his family, friends, community, entrepreneur; since the age of 6, musician in his teenage years’, engineer by training successful businessman and keen to all travel adventures. He taught everyone around him what it means to live a life worth living and how to keep promises to the grave with unmatched wit, bravery and grace. Above everything else, he was always first in all that mattered.
It is with immense pride and honor that his immediate family; his two daughters and his son alongside their mother; his wife, remain committed to keeping the legacy of their father and his commitment to alleviating water scarcity in Ethiopia.
